Lead Product Designer

Compology is a software and hardware solution that helps Fortune 100 companies and governments meter their waste to eliminate inefficiencies and drive toward their sustainability goals while reducing waste costs. 

• First product design hire at the company, reported directly to the co-founder and Chief Product Officer

• Created the complete design system for the Compology customer-facing web application from the ground up, balancing product, engineering, and business needs

• Led user research and design for all major features of the Compology customer-facing web application and internal operations tools, including waste metering, dashboard, customer/location management, and dumpster monitoring features

• Planned, refined, and implemented our end-to-end user research practices which increased the number of research projects we were able to do, and decreased our time to completion

• Collaborated on a brand redesign with the internal marketing team and an external design team at Mackey Saturday

• Co-founded the Compology DEI committee, led diversity and inclusion surveying/analysis, planned company-wide cultural events, and coordinated facilitation by outside DEI consultant Change Cadet

• Designed several major features of the August customer-facing mobile application including setup and onboarding flows for the August Smart Keypad (the first accessory product to the August Smart Lock) and the activity feed

• Implemented several large-scale changes to the tools and processes used by the design team, which saved additional team resources
